fluid leak,1997 acura integra

Recommended Posts

I was geting some dinner tonight and one of the lady's asked me if i would look at a leak under her car.

She has a 1997 acura integra with a four banger. I narrowed the leak to be coming from a gallon sized bottle in front of the rt. side steer tire. I'ts not oil, washer fluid or brake fluid.

It looks like water.Question is was is the bottle, and what is leaking. It's mounted behind the fender /bumper assembly and infront of the rt.steer tire.

I would liketo go back tomorrow and tell them it's nothing. Your help is apreciated.

if you found the washer fuid bottle in the other fender, then it has to be the coolant bottle...those are the only 2 possible fluid resorvoirs that could be in the fender wells. Don't forget,...there are coolants that appear "clear" and without color. To be sure, trace the radiator cap overflow hose to the resorvoir.

seriously...washer fluid reservoirs are the only fluid reservoirs I've seen in the location you've described. Every vehicle I can think of has all the critical fluids contained within the engine compartment...beyond that, I have no idea.

Watch some smartass say its the blinker fluid reservoir...

I have seen vacuum reservoirs and vapor canisters mounted in that location, but neither of those should have any fluid in them. I've never seen a vacuum reservoir that large and vapor canisters only approach that size on large fuel capacity vehicles.

OH!!! I might know!! . . . Did it have headlight washers?

I think you are just going to have to take a taste and see if you can tell what it is. . . .
