    I was born and raised in Mapleton Utah but I have lived in Cache Valley for the last 9 years.
  1. Looking for info. I have a 1984 D-50 4x4 with a 4D55T, that my Dad left me when he passed away. I love the truck but need to rebuild the turbo. According to the numbers it is a TC05, but has an internal wastegate, so I'm assuming it must be a TD04. Any ideas?

  2. Truck looks great. I just moved my battery and I went with the 0 aug. I think you still have enough room under the hood for a battery, if you go with a Stinger battery like I did. They are the best battery money can buy. Mine is an SP1000 and it is way smaller than an Optima. You should look into going with a Stinger.
  3. So, Can you guys handle the Truth? On my to and from Pocatello last night I averaged 34.8 mpg according to my gps and I was not even trying to save fuel. I was just driving normal and trying not to hit deer. I took a drive to Salt Lake today and had a good mix of city and freeway driving and averaged 31.6 mpg. I don't know what Terry did to my injection pump but it is running great and the milage is killer.
  4. So here is the first of many dyno runs I hope to make over the next few years. The HP and TQ number you see are rear wheel numbers. I am going to drive it around with these settings for a while and monitor boost, EGT's and MPG's. As you can see Terry did an amazing job getting this truck to the factory specs. This gives me a great starting point and now I will be able to track the improvement that each mod makes. I have adjusted the rear wheel numbers into flywheel numbers for comparison. The owner estimated I was losing the normal 20%. Factory Specs: 80 hp @ 4200 RPM's 125 ft-lbs torque @ 2500 RPM's Adjusted Specs: 80 hp @ 4002 RPM's 127 ft-lbs @ 2958 RPM's

  10. As far as the K&N goes, it depends on the style, I run a K&N air filter and I have never had any issues.

  12. Well, I will start with modifying the fuel pump and adding an intercooler. If that is not enough power then I will add propane. Man these IDI's are tougher to modify.
  13. So seeing how my truck is a turbocharged IDI, would I be better off to go with propane or with a water/meth setup. I don't really want to increase boost pressure to much cause compression is 21:1 and I already push 15psi. I would mind pushing 18-20 psi, but thats the limit I feel comfortable with.
  14. I think you worry to much Muddy. I am just looking to get a more complete burn of my fuel so that I can get a few more MPG. If I gain 10hp, that would make me plenty happy. My truck has IDI and makes around 120hp so I think these are realistic expectations. So it says that propane injection does really increase EGT's but does propane increase boost pressure?
