Post Falls, ID Diesel Dinner Dec 20th

The dinner was good. We had 6 people total. I have a feeling that snow and Holiday commitments held some people from going. Thanks to all those who showed up!!! Had a good time.

What brand of tachometer did you go with? Are you hooking it up to the factory provided plug?

    Exhaust turbine housing change

Hey thanks for the offer! Yeah, I decided to go with the 16cm housing......I plan to tow alot with this pickup and want something that will compliment mild performance upgrades. If I drop a couple hundred degrees on EGT, that would be great! It seems to me that the 16cm housing really benefits the 89-91 folks with the 21cm housing, rather than the 18.5 folks like me. Any kind of noticeable difference is what I'm looking for.

    Exhaust turbine housing change

With Christmas around the corner, I am doing a little gift giving of my own.......... I'm actually looking around to see what is available for a turbine housing upgrade on my stock H1C. My rig is a 93', so it has the 18.5 housing. Doing some research, it seems having an automatic transmission and some light power mods best yeilds to the 16cm housing. It seems the 14 and 12 housing give tons of boost, but create a real hot-fire while towing under heavy load. I plan to tow a boat/travel travel soon and think maybe the 16cm housing best suits this application. Anyone disagree or have something to add?

Post Falls, ID Diesel Dinner Dec 20th

Glad another person can join in. I'm excited about our trip back over to Spokane. I do miss my ol' stompin' grounds around the Inland Empire. At this point, I'm trying to connect with old friends from there and get em' to role some coal out to Post Falls. I hope more people can stop by!

Post Falls, ID Diesel Dinner Dec 20th

I have been away from the Idaho Turbo Diesels for some time now. Some of you may remember that I moved over to Western Washington. This Holiday season I am planning to drive over to Spokane and visit family/friends. While I'm in the neighborhood, I am planning a Diesel Dinner @ Hot Rod Cafe' in Post Falls, ID. The plan is to meet up on Saturday (Dec 20th) @ 6:30pm. I know some folks have chimmed in already about attending. It would be pretty cool to get some Idaho folks to show up. At this point I am waiting for responses and will be doing a headcount. Give a shout out if your interested in attending.

    CB Radio 101.......someone educate me

Thanks for the help and suggestions everyone. I just bought 18ft of Coax cable and a 90* elbow bracket for my antenna. The idea is to modify this 90* bracket so it will fit between the fender and hood seam. I really like the "fender mount setups" I'd really like to see close up pictures of how folks did their fender mounts. I was a little reluctant to buy 18ft of cable (kinda overkill in length for my application). My good friend told me I wouldn't be sorry I bought that much and that more length protects my radio from stronger radio wave signals that may damage mine. The truck stop I bought this stuff from sells the coax cable in 9ft and 18ft lengths. I'm starting to think if buying the longer length was unnessesary (only going from the front fender-through the engine compartment-through the firewall-and into my cab. Any ideas?

    Now this is a Cummins!!!!!

Alright everyone.........I just finished my Fall quarter at school and this is what I have to show for it. Our last day was last Friday and we were able to get our log truck project completed by Friday afternoon. The engine runs really smooth and looks factory new. The engine is a Cummins KTA1150 or K19 (19 Liter engine!!!) This engine is largest Cummins produced for a semi-truck application. I have talked to someone who comfirmed seeing a K19 with factory twins many years ago!!!! The KTA1150/ K19 is a very uncommon engine and chances are you will never see one unless you are someone who has lived around trucks your whole life. I felt extremely lucky to get the chance to work on this project. Oh before I forget, for all you performance junkies out there.........this log truck can pull up Forth of July Pass with a full log load at 60mph!!! Keep an eye out for this truck if your ever around Cataldo, Coer d' alene, and the 4th of July Pass I documented our first start-ups with the log truck and generator set..........check out the videos!
