16x7 Dodge Ram Steel Chrome Wheels

I actually have some experience with those dynapro tires. The guy I was working with put a set of 315/70r17 on his 2nd gen cummins. We were both very impressed with them. He still has them on a spare set of rims with over 50k miles.

16x7 Dodge Ram Steel Chrome Wheels

I had some toyo mts and liked them. I now have toyo at2 and they are ok. My next tires will be bfg. I like the look of wide tires. I think most trucks look best with a fender full of tire. I dont care for trucks lifted way up in the air. I liked them when I was younger though. I'm happy I grew out of the mt tire phase. I doubt ill ever grow out of having oversized tires though. I was told a tall skinny m55 is the best tire for off road but not ideal for highway travel. Just gotta find a happy medium for whatever conditions you plan to drive in I guess.

But big tires are cool. Surprised you didn't know that I like the idea of painting the inside of the wheels. I think I'm gonna try that. Probably use flat black and some matte clear coat for wheels. The wheels I painted on the pathfinder have held up great so far.

    Tow Pig Project

Hey guys I'm new here. Thought I would show what I been up to. I have learned alot from forums and am happy to be a part of one with people from idaho. I am happy to help anyone and my garage is always open. I bought my truck in feb of 2013 for the sole purpose of towing my camp trailer. It had 244,000 miles and now has 256,600. It was stock besides a 3 inch down pipe, gold superchip, built tranny, and gauges. It needed alot of work but the body was pretty nice and i was in love. I paid $5,250. Two months later i bought a spare engine out of a 95 for $450. I was never very impressed with the power it made even after fixing a ton of pre turbo exhaust leaks and boost leaks and adding a couple goodies. It towed my toy hauler ok and now i have a fifth wheel that it tows pretty good but kinda struggles on the hills and at highway speeds. The engine also leaked oil from the oil pan and was making me crazy. I decided to clean up the 95 engine and add some more goodies in preparation for a swap. I started with this. A 95 psd and i had no idea what shape the internals were in. It was very dirty and had been sitting in a shop for 6 years. After pulling the oil pan i was very happy to see that the engine still had hone marks in all cylinders. I ran each cylinder to tdc and they all looked good. It also felt very smooth. I decided to just clean it up and reseal it rather than do complete rebuild. I would rather rebuild the original 97 engine anyways. After some new paint i decided to have my manifolds, up-pipes, and turbo exhaust housing ceramic coated. I added a new oil pan, 3 inch plenums, 160/30 Injectors, t500 hpop, and a melling lpop. I wanted a fluidampner but just couldn't bite the financial bullet. Got the new one in and it runs awsome. Sounds good, feels good, and has some serious power over the last one. So far it dont leak a drop of oil, coolant, or fuel. I am happy. I tows my trailer awsome. I have not found a hill in Idaho that will move the speedo needle. Egts do get hot though. I need a better turbo and plan to add a t4 mount and basb turbo. I still plan on more mods to help this thing tow better. I hope to have this truck forever and love working on it. Its like a playground for someone that likes to tinker. There are just so many things that can be modded. Thanks for reading. Here are some pics.

    Tow Pig Project

Thank you guys. I am very happy with it. The thing I'm really excited about now is that i finally found some non factory tint rear windows. I can't stand the mirrored look and how they don't match. Ive been trying to find windows for years now. I havent got them installed yet but atleast I've got them. I don't drive the truck in the winter much. Especially when there is salt and sandy gravel on the roads. Its been sitting over a month now. The seam sealer seems to be a common issue. The auto body guy said they see it alot on the older vehicles.

    For anyone that welds

I use starting fluid to clean before I weld sometimes. I assume it's safe because its made to be burned. Kinda scary because the box of starting fluid sits right next to the box of brake cleaner. If the starting fluid was gone I wouldn't have thought twice to use brake cleaner. I'm happy you guys posted this.

what do you do for a living?

It should be a stainless steel tag welded to the casing above ground. Here is a pic of the tag. Here is a link to the dept of water resources well log search. It had a spot to input the tag number and should give you your well info if its in their system. https://www.idwr.idaho.gov/Apps/appsWell/WCInfoSearchExternal/

what do you do for a living?

You can pull the pump with a pump truck is ideal but alot of people do it themselves with a crane or other things. It kinda depends how deep the pump is set for how heavy its gonna be. Them older pumps seem to really last a long time if the well is clean. Do You have the info for your well? If not get me the tag number off the well. It should start with a D00*****. I can get the log for you if its in the system.

what do you do for a living?

I am happy to help when I can. I like to think if the well is done right you should never have issues with it. I don't do pump work and unfortunately the pump will eventually fail.

what do you do for a living?

I drill water wells. I have been in the drilling business since before i graduated high school. Almost 15 years. I have drilled more wells than any other driller the last 2 years in a row, soon to be 3. The last 2 years I drilled over 100 wells each. I dont think ill hit 100 this year. The weather slowed us down quite a bit earlier this year with all the snow. I like drilling because it involves a bit of everything I enjoy. I work outside, I drive a truck, i have a class A cdl, I weld, I mechanic, I'm the boss on my rig, I run a crane, i talk with customers and vendors, and best of all I rarely have to answer to my boss. He lets me do my thing and as long as I have permits I can just go to work and do my job.

    Bluetooth OBDII Dongles

I have one of these obd2 links and the torque app. Its kinda handy. I think the Bluetooth adaptor was around $30 and the torque app was $5. I have only used it on my 97 psd. The pcm on the old psd don't read much info. The map sensor is not correct with my boost gauge. It does read exhaust back pressure and the hpo system. It won't read or clear dtc codes. I have been told that cargauge pro will read and clear dtcs. I have also heard it will run diagnostic tests like cylinder contribution tests and buzz tests. I have not used that app myself. The nice thing about the torque app is that you can build a screen to show whatever gauges you like as long as your pcm reads those parameters. If you have an extra android or iPhone you can use it solely as a gauge pod. Here are a couple pages I have on the torque app.

Ford - All because a rear parking sensor didn't work?!

Agreed!! People are too dumb to park their cars, back up trailers, change lanes, or even not ass end someone. We need our cars to do it all for us. More tech, more wiring, more computers, more problems. I can't even stand the climate control in my wife's car. I just want 3 dials.

    1996 Dodge Ram 1500

I have been hearing good things about the autolite iridium xp plugs. I recently changed the plugs in the pathy and that's what I used. Aside from that I would say the obvious general maintenance like fuel and air filters and good oil. I never run ethanol gas in anything I own. I hate it. I know most people do but I refuse. I pay alot for gas because of it.

    Tow Pig Project

I bought my donor truck today. Its a 96 f250 super cab short box psd 5 speed 4 wheel drive. It runs and drives. It needs alot of love. I might keep it for a project truck. I'm not sure yet. I paid 1500 for it which is a steal. I'm very happy with it. It took a little while to charge the batteries but after we got it running we were able to drive it onto the trailer. Old blue did awsome towing it back from Soda Springs. It was a good day.
